Richard Kirby is the visionary founder of OttawaHockeyHub.ca and the Ottawa West Beginner Hockey League (OWBHL) — two initiatives built to make hockey more accessible, inclusive, and fun for adults of all skill levels.

Despite having only 16 months of hockey experience himself, Richard’s passion and commitment to learning the game have been extraordinary. His journey from beginner to league owner perfectly reflects what the OWBHL stands for — growth, confidence, and love for the sport at every level.

Driven by an admiration for hockey, Richard created these platforms to help new and returning players discover the game in a supportive, coed environment focused on skill development and community. Under his leadership, the OWBHL has become one of Ottawa’s most welcoming hockey programs, offering structured practices, 3 vs 3 leagues, and beginner-friendly games.

Through OttawaHockeyHub.ca, Richard connects players across the region with leagues, clinics, and resources — making it easier than ever for adults to lace up and play.  🏒🔥

Dillan Essiambre is the energetic Social Media Manager for OttawaHockeyHub.ca and the Ottawa West Beginner Hockey League. Although new to the game of hockey and still learning the ropes on the ice, Dillan’s enthusiasm, creativity, and passion for the sport shine through every post.

With a strong background in digital media and content creation, Dillan brings a fresh, engaging voice to our online presence — capturing the excitement, community spirit, and fun that define our league. His drive, positivity, and storytelling talent help connect players, fans, and partners across the Ottawa hockey community.

Matt Gohan is the enthusiastic spokesperson for the Ottawa West Beginner Hockey League and OttawaHockeyHub.ca. Known for his energy, drive, and genuine passion for the game, Matt brings excitement to every event and post. Whether he’s cheering on players, promoting community hockey, or sharing league highlights, his enthusiasm inspires new and returning players to hit the ice with confidence and fun.

Although newer to the game of hockey, Matt has quickly become a dedicated and skilled player, showing tremendous growth each time he hits the ice. His positive attitude and relentless effort make him a natural motivator, always encouraging others to push themselves, improve, and enjoy the journey.

Katrina brings a wealth of hockey experience, with an extensive background both as a player and goaltender. Katrina combines technical knowledge, on-ice experience, and a passion for teaching to help goalies reach their full potential.

 

Currently working with Hockey365.ca, Katrina partners with the OWBHL to deliver a unique goalie training program designed specifically for adult goalies. Her coaching approach focuses on improving positioning, reaction time, and confidence — all in a supportive and encouraging environment.🏒💪
